Sample Product Reviews

Hey dolls,

So I have some more product reviews for you of products that I received samples of at my job. Hope you enjoy!!!

*NARS BLUSH IN LUSTER*I absolutely have fallen in love with this blush. NARS has the best blushes by far from any product/brand we carry in my store. In my opinion the color is a peachy taupe with gold bronze shimmer to it. It's not to much and it does wonders to help bring life to your face. No complaints here. When I used it I added a darker bronzer to contour my cheeks and another lighter bronzer as a highlight on my cheek bones. Consider trying this! It retails for $26. Not bad!

*LORAC TANtalizer BAKED BRONZER*If you have skin of color this is the perfect bronzer for you. It's gives the perfect glow to color skin. I love it. I plan on buying the full-size product, which retails for $32. According to Sephora's website, this bronzer is baked in terra cotta (and i love terra cotta as a blush), and it gives a radiance to the skin.

*URBAN DECAY E/S IN RUSH*At my job we have a variety of gold/neutral shades from Urban Decay. As soon as I swatched this project I fell in love, and knew that I would have to make a sample of it. It is the perfect gold. Not too much but not to little. I'm waiting to use it for a special occasion :)

*SMASHBOX PHOTO-FINISH OIL FREE LUMINIZER FOUNDATION PRIMER*I've used this product a couple of times and I actually like it. I wear it under my liquid foundation and it gives your face a luminous glow. I've also used there regular foundation primer which has no color to it. The texture is smooth and you only need about four-five dots to prime the face.

SN: If you haven't noticed from my other product reviews, I love the color gold and love to glow and for my makeup to look flawless. These products definitely do the job!!!!

Check out Sephora for these and more great products!!!

Grown and Sexy Fragrance: Beyonce Heat

Hey dolls,

I know this fragrance was released a couple of months ago, but working at Sephora I am forever making samples of it, and I just fell in love with its scent. I definitely think it has a womanly, sensual smell to it that is perfect from the grown and sexy!

I'm getting this for Christmas and I can't wait to go out wearing it! The second option to this fragrance is the Ultimate Elixir. The fragrance is the same, but because its an elixir it will stay on the body longer then the original formula. Go to a near by Sephora and check out the scent!

Product Review: Cover FX Water Based Foundation

I have another product review for you guys...this comes from my store Sephora. It is COVER FX WATER BASED FOUNDATION SPF 15. It retails for $40. Sephora's website tells the following information about the product:

What it is formulated to do:
Provides hydrating sheer to medium coverage for the face and body. The formulation was designed to achieve a natural looking, satin finish.

What else you need to know:
This fluid foundation is non-comedogenic, fragrance-free, and oil-free. The results leave your skin looking younger, healthy, and flawless.

Size: 1 oz

My Opinion:

I like this product. The consistency is a tad thick, but you don't need a lot of product to get the job done. This has been the second liquid foundation I've used. The first being NARS Sheer Glow, and I think I will stick to those two as my liquid foundation go-to's.

8MY COLOR IN COVER FX: HONEY GINGER*

Buxom Product Review

Hey dolls,

Here is a look at a product I received from my job at Sephora. I wasn't aware of this brand before I started working for Sephora, but I actually love it. This review will be on Buxom Stay-There Eyeshadow in Pug ($17). The color is a smokey silver and the formula is kind of creamy. In my opinion I would much rather use this product as a base for another eyeshadow to go on top of. But that's just my opinion. It works wonders as a base. It is also waterproof and stays up. This product can be applied with your fingers or with a brush. I think if your going to wear it just as a eyeshadow that you should apply it with your fingers to your eye lid. It comes out way better with your fingers than a brush.
In the picture below I wore the Buxom Eyeshadow in Pug on my lid and then layered with the silver/gray shade from my Coastal Scents Creative Me #2 Palette.

There are ten color shades in the Buxom Stay-There Collection.

Hope you enjoyed!!!

NARS Product Review

Hey dolls,

So since I started my new job at Sephora, I got a couple of products to review. This review will be on NARS. I love NARS! There how collection is flawless in my opinion. I picked up two samples of NARS products that I wanted to try out and I love them!!!

I got the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Cadiz and NARS blush in Super Orgasm. Check out the review and pics below...

NARS SHEER GLOW FOUNDATION (in Cadiz); $42
NARS Liquid Foundation comes in two formulas...sheer and matte. I decided to try out the sheer glow formula since its winter time. I think I'll switch to the matte formula when the summer time rolls back around. But I love this product. I used to think that liquid formula wouldn't last as long as a powder does, but I got a tiny sample jar of it have used it for three different days and still have enough left for probably three more days. I apply this product with my fingers and you don't need a lot of product to get great coverage. I use a Cover Girl translucent powder and the Sephora Collection powder foundation in Warm Maghogany to set the NARS liquid foundation. I definitely plan on purchasing the entire bottle. I think I'm addicted!!! SN: NARS sheer glow and matte liquid foundations come in 12 different shades.

NARS BLUSH (in Super Orgasm); $26I was first turned on by NARS blush in Orgasm while watching product reviews by other You Tube makeup gurus. While I was at work looking through different products I came across their blush in Super Orgasm. I love it. Its a sheer pinky shade with flecks of gold. This just completes my look. Love love love it!!!

Hope you enjoyed this product review.

Updates!!!!

Hey dolls,

Its been sooo long since I've blogged. Just been extremely busy with life and work and trying to put some things together for myself. So I have a few updates...

Yesterday I had an interview with Sephora and got it on the spot. The manager was so impressed with me and my resume that she thought I would be an asset to the company. Although its just seasonal, she has high hopes that my position will become permanent. So I am extremely happy about that. I start in a couple of weeks!!!

And also I've been trying to find a local makeup artist in Charlotte to intern/assist. So I found one. She is a celebrity makeup artist and I have a meeting with her next week. So I'm excited about that as well.

New opportunities have been coming my way and its taking me one step closer to my dream!

O yeah and tomorrow night I'll be doing the makeup for Charlotte Style Magazine's fashion event. The theme is Asian-Motif. So I look forward to that!!! I will keep you all posted!!!

Coastal Scents Haul Pt3!!!

Hey,

So I just received my Coastal Scents package in the mail this morning and decided to post a quick blog before I left for work. This is a small haul, but I love what I got. All the purchases I make for makeup are going towards building my kit so that I can do freelance work and market myself as a makeup artist. Hope you enjoy this haul.

SN: Coastal Scents offers free shipping for orders over $50. So these purchases came to total of $51.84 I believe. Check it out:

*COASTAL SCENTS HOT POTS*
(these are 26mm pans, the same size as MAC)These Hot Pots are $4.49 each. And although I don't shop at MAC, I hear that these colors and quality are comparable to MAC and a lot of these are dupes for MAC shades. Why buy MAC shades at almost $15 each, when you can get them for $4.49 each.

I also ordered a 12 piece empty magnetic palette so I can customize my own makeup palettes. I call this palette by "Natural Glow Palette (Neutral/Pink/Green)". I love it! I plan on ordering more colors to fill up the rest of the palette.

Hot Pots (Left to Right): ME17, ME21, ME20, ME24, ME22, ME23, and S24.

*COASTAL SCENTS 13 PIECE BRUSH SET*

I decided to order a brush set that I can put in my kit for professional use. I plan on getting more brushes from them but these are the basics.

The brush kit includes:
  1. Deluxe Sable Powder Brush
  2. Deluxe Sable Blush Brush
  3. Sable Shadow Brush
  4. Sable Concealer Brush
  5. Angle Taklon Liner
  6. Badger Blending Fan
  7. Sable Crease Brush
  8. Oval Taklon Concealer
  9. Detail Lip Liner
  10. Eyebrow Comb
  11. Mascara Spoolie
  12. Silk Spongie
  13. Leatherine Case

Hope you enjoyed!!! Another NYX and LA Colors Haul post coming in a few days!
