Coastal Scents Haul!!!!!

Hey!!!

So I think last week I told you all that I would be ordering some goodies from Coastal Scents! Well they arrived yesterday. The shipping only took two days...I was shocked but happy that it came so fast. So here are the picks of what I received. To get these products are to view some more visit www.coastalscents.com. Maybe later I'll do some swatches of the colors in the two palettes I bought. My total purchase came to $60. Not bad. Enjoy!!!

My goodies came in a big box (FedEx) and everything was wrapped in bubble wrap and pink tissue paper. Pretty!!!

This is the 28 Piece Neutral Eye Shadow Palette ($18.95). The picture above this one is the box the palette came in, and the palette closed. These colors are very pigmented and smooth.

This is the Creative Me #1 Palette ($21.95) 12 highly pigmented colors! The picture above this, is the box the palette came inside of and the palette closed.

This is a Coastal Scents Hot Pot. They are like M.A.C pots, the same size too I believe. This color is Hot Pot #S24 ("S" standing for shimmer; $4.49). It is such as pretty sage green color.
Love It!!!

This is lip gloss, called Lip Smacks. I love this color. It's sort of like a very light coral nude color. Its called Strut On Nude ($5.95). The first image is the packaging the product came inside of.

I added two new brushes to my collection. The one on the left is the Blending Brush ($2.99) and the other is the Black Crease Brush ($1.89). I can't wait to put these brushes to use!

And finally I got samples of these two products. The first one is Silk Cover Mineral Foundation in Brown Sugar (the sample cost was $2.00) and the other is an Eye Shadow pigment called Persian (this sample came free with my order). I like this color. It looks gold/light brown in the picture, but its actually a nice green color with golden shimmers.

Soooo...I hope you all enjoyed this post! Be sure to check out the website.

New Brush Display!!!

So since I'll be adding more brushes to my collection, I've decided to change the holder in which I held my brushes. I thought that this would be cute. Its a pink, funky cup that I bought from the dollar store, and I filled it with clear and aqua glass like pieces that can also be found at the dollar store.

Love This Look!!! Pretty Cameleon!

Hey loves!

So I absolutely love the colors used in this tutorial by Bitch-Slap Cosmetics promoter Alondra. Her You Tube Channel is: MzMaKeUpArTizT. Check it out and subscribe!!! Also check out www.bitchslap-cosmetics.com for more products!!! Love it!

Beauty College on My Mind!

So for the past week or so, I've really been debating whether or not to go to beauty college to get my degree/license as a makeup artist. I really want to be certified. There are few schools in Charlotte that I've been looking at. I think I might attend Carolina Beauty College or Aveda Institute.

And there is even this workshop coming to town in June, that I soooo badly want to attend. It is a three day workshop from 9am-6pm where they teach you how to do photo/runway makeup! I wish I could do this, but its pricey! Almost $900.00. And you get a free 23-piece brush set! O how I wish I could go! I guess when I get any spare money imma focus it on building my collection. I still I have a few palettes, brushes, and other products to purchase.

I am also looking forward to getting my foot in the door by working for MicaBella Cosmetics. So hopefully that goes as planned and I land that job on this coming Thursday! I will keep you all updated!!!

More on MicaBella Cosmetics...

Just to update you all on my interview I talked about in a previous post about my interview with MicaBella Cosmetics for their Makeup Artist position...well I will be going back this coming Thursday, May 20th for part 2 where I have to give a "presentation" on my skills and how I interact with customers. I'm so excited.

So this post is basically explaining more in-depth tips about MicaBella Cosmetics, especially their eye pigments, because they have so many uses. So here goes:

Mineral Eye Shadow
1. Its a shimmer pigment, with 108 color to select from
2. When used with eyeshadow primer, the shimmer pigment turns to a matte. So instead of buying two type of products with separate finishes, you get two type of finishes in one product.
3. When dip in the water, the pigment can be used as an eyeliner, or eyeshadow for a dramatic look.
4. When pigments are mixed with MicaBellas other products, such as their clear nail polish, clear mascara, clear lip gloss/lip balm, and aloe vera hair gel, these products become colored with whatever pigment you choose. So basically one product can be used to created several other products/looks
5. The eyeshadow primer makes the eyeshadow waterproof, and it won't crease or smear. It will last for 8 hours.

Mineral Foundation
1. Mineral foundation is based used when a mosturizer is applied to the skin first.
2. The foundation is very light, has great coverage and water resistant.

Check out: www.micabella.com for more products.

Neutral Palettes by Coastal Scents

Sooo here are two palettes that feature nothing but warm neutral colors, for those out there that rather experiment with more natural looks rather then bright, colorful looks. I have not used either of these palettes, but plan on purchasing both to add to my makeup collection. After watching the two You Tube videos below I was even more excited to purchase these palettes. Both palettes are from Coastal Scents. Enjoy!!!

Addicted to My Blog!

I think I'm addicted to my blog and blogging! I have about 53 post and have had this blog since March. But I love blogging about fashion and beauty, and informing other fashion/beauty bloggers about products and my favorite things!!!

I'm thinking of starting another blog, just for makeup! That is my passion right now. I went to college for 3 1/2 years and graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Marketing and Management. My ultimate goal in the fashion industry is to:

--start my own fashion agency in Charlotte, NC where it is a client base company where my team and I provide fashion assistance, such as, event planning, visual merchandising, fashion shows, marketing and advertising, photoshoots for ad campaigns, fashion styling, and model training.

--launch my swimwear line, House of Envy in the south.

**I also wouldn't mind working for a clothing company in their fashion department or a fashion marketing/event promotion company. If it is dealing with fashion than I want to be apart of it!**

I've always been into makeup, but at the end of 2009 is when I started getting addicted to watching makeup tutorials on You Tube, and I've become obsessed with buying makeup products. Its crazy, because now I would rather spend my money on makeup products and palettes rather than clothes. SMH!!! But what can I say. I've fallen in love with the art of makeup and that is where my passion began!

I am trying to make it in both the fashion and beauty industry. Wish my luck!!!

Look of the Day (5/4/10):

So today I'll be creating looks and different makeup and hair combinations to go along with them. Hope you Enjoy. SN: These looks were created using Polyvore.

This look could use a nice black/gray smokey eye and a nude lip color with some gloss.

Below are some hair options for this look:

My Beauty Bar (lol) Updated!!!

So I re-arranged my bathroom sink and this is what it looks like now. I think my most favorite place in my apartment is my bathroom, besides from my closet and bedroom (of course lol). Its my beauty sanctuary where I get beautified and all glam'd up! So check it out. Also look at my previous post on my bathroom setup to see the before pics.
This is the left side of my bathroom sink. I have my three-draw bin, cup of makeup brushes, and fragrances/body scents. As well as a bin of for my makeup palette, sunglasses, and facial products.

These are all my fragrances/body scents that I use. Love smell goods!!!

This is the right side of my bathroom sink which holds by toothbrush holder, dish soap of q-tips, jar of cotton balls, a holder for my cotton pads, hand soap, and picture frames of my family. Also in the pink glass is where I hold my in-scents.

Okay so here is a breakdown of what is in each draw of the bin. The first draw is where I hold my makeup collection (pigments, small palettes/quads, lip gloss/color, mascara, eye liner, eye shadow primer, etc). The second draw is where I hold my jewelry (basically all my earrings, rings, and bracelets. I store my necklaces some place else). The third draw is misc. items like other makeup products I barely use, eye lash curler, nail clippers/products).

The cube like bin sitting on top of the three-draw bin contains my 120 Manly Palette, my sunglasses, an empty brush set pouch, and my facial products like my foundation and face cream that I use to set my foundation.

I also have three draws going down the side of my bathroom counter. In the middle draw I pace all my hair equipment like curlers, wave irons, flat irons, and blow dryers.

FOTD: Blue/Purple Look

Ok, so this is a look I did a few days ago using my 120 Manly Palette. I was inspired by this look from You Tube Makeup Guru Makeup by Leina. I posted the video in a previous post, by here is the link, so check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnKB3O6034A

I think my look came out a little brighter in the blue area. SN: I didn't use the same pigments/brand as she did. But I think I achieved a pretty cool look. I am going to go back and redo this look.

For the color on my lips I used, L'Oreal Paris Riche Colour Lipstick in Fairest Nude (with a little bit of gloss on top), also recommended by Makeup by Leina.

Hope you Enjoy!

Give Me Liberty of London Makeup Ad

This collection isn't that brand new. But I came across this ad campaign, and I love it!!! I love the colors, and I love the makeup used. I haven't purchased anything from M.A.C. or this collection but I think this ad campaign is very inspiring.

Side Note: When I talk about makeup I try to let you all know of cheaper brands with amazing colors and products because everyone can't afford M.A.C., NARS and the goodies at Sephora!

Here are some of the products:

Design Spotlight: Pinko

I came across this ad campaign when I was browsing Spring 2010 ad campaigns. I am a visual person and love editorial print work and love to see how designers visually communicate their lines. I just like the whole set up of this campaign, and if you don't know gold is my favorite color, and the ad campaign below by Pinko used alot of gold and glitz in this campaign. Enjoy!

For more info on the designer, visit http://www.pinko.it/home.asp?LN=UK.
